Don’t go to Norquest or any place like that. Lots of companies don’t acknowledge their courses so it’s a waste of money. You can say you have a business certificate from norquest and they will take that as a joke. Go to Nait, grant mac or u of a.

Not sure about HR specifically though.

  3. Norquest is an accredited school so you shouldn’t have a problem. It’s places like Academy of Learning and Reeves you want to avoid.

NorQuest is a perfectly acceptable school. It is an accredited school like someone else mentioned.

  6. NorQuest is an accredited institution. It’s not to be mixed up with the likes of CDI, Academy of Learning or Reeves. The Business Admin program offered at NorQuest follows the same curriculum and criteria as NAIT, Athabasca University, etc.,

  8. You can get a degree for the same price at a public institution. Major rip off.

Business admin is pretty generalized… not really catered to many specific jobs. Not to mention being the most popular degree next to psychology so it’s hard to find a job, as they’re so many of them, and you won’t get paid well unless you do some graduate program and/or branch off to something specialized, and even then takes many years before you then start climbing the ladder to be paid any moderately well amount.

  10. Check with some businesses to see what they think of the school. When it comes down to it, that’s what really matters – what the person doing the hiring thinks of the school. Is there a practicum component? Does the school set up your practicum to do you have to find placement yourself. Also, does the school help with job placement? How many of their graduates are employed in field for which they studied?

I sincerely hope they teach you how to write, how to use proper grammar, and how to articulate your thoughts before you graduate; regardless of where you end of going. If you’re looking into Business Administration, I highly recommend you upgrade your English, as well.

  14. Go to MacEwan. They have adult entrance exams even. Or online through athabasca u.
I would really evaluate your job prospects after, though. I know a lot of HR people out of jobs or in much lower positions than they expected (HR professional here).

Norquest is a gong show. Just look at how their lobby is laid out. That’s enough to make you run. I did!!

    • NorQuest has a brand new building that just opened up as an extension of the old building you’re talking about. The new building is beautiful and the old one will be retrofitted over the next couple of years. Macewan wasn’t the prettiest of schools in the beginning either, but look at it now.
