  2. Not to smart. The Henday is a freeway and jogging or cycling on it is illegal. So if you get a ticket or worse yet hit by a car. You have only yourself to blame.

You’re wrong. If a car hits a person on the shoulder of a road. Any road… the cars driver is to blame and should never get behind the wheel again. Anybody who can’t stay within the lines on a road should not be driving.

    • How do you figure that ? If the driver on the freeway has to swerve to avoid debris or some other hazard. He doesn’t expect someone to be on the shoulder where they shouldn’t be. The shoulders are there for such emergencies not for jogging. We have a river valley full of trails.

False. You would be at fault. As a driver you are responsible to be aware of your surroundings.

    • Thank you for posting that. It states that the pedestrian is not to proceed or remain on the roadway. So in other words they are in the wrong

    • It says they are not to be on the roadway if there is a sidewalk or path…read a little farther…

    • Bryce Lariviere if your attention is so poor that you cannot comprehend the meaning of two quite simple sections, I think you should probably not be driving at all. 😉 If you hit a runner on the side strip of the highway, you better be having a malfunction in your vehicle that made you lose control, because otherwise you’ll be criminally liable.

I think what Bryce should have said was that no one should be running or jogging on a hwy. And if you do then it is probably part death wish and stupid to be doing so.

People bike and walk on highways all the time.. if there is a shoulder it shouldn’t matter

Interesting idea though. Maybe a walking/cycling path would be a good idea. Well off the freeway, of course.
