Justice system

This is Veronicas story. She was 16 months old when she was brought into a cold lake hospital in cardiac arrest.

A male Sherman Whitford has been charged with 2nd degree murder in relation to her murder. This little lady was severely beaten.

Today being the 28th of November Sherman Whitford was able to post bail in the amount of 5000 dollars. How does a male accused of murder related to the death of a 16 month old little one get bail? We all want to know?! He was granted bail in a St. Paul courtroom. What can be done? Can the decision be turned around?

ANOTHER GREAT POST:  Caution: Windows in an Advertised Home are Not up to Standard

If you feel comfortable please submit questions to the Justice Minister. Below is the contact information. This little baby was a daughter, grand daughter, niece, sister and so much more.

Please help us in our battle. She will not die in vain. These senseless murders need to stop!

  4. Our justice system sucks and in St Paul they have no brains so the 2 go hand in hand o guess. He doesn’t deserve to be out on bail. However my guess is someone is going to find him before his court date. It’s not easy to hide put there. Everyone knows Everyone! 1 person talks they all know about it.

Well the mother also should be charged for failing to protext her child, but no she’s standing by the murderer of her child. The justice system failed Veronica. The guy should be in jail not walking around free. Wow there needs to be a law that when a child is abused to the point of death, there should put in place a law thay if someone is to take a childs life then whoever commits the murder of a child that the person responsible should get life without parole. For the child did not get a chacne to live her life. Life for life seriously.

  10. what angers me is the video of his family during these court appearances. Never fails the one female always gives the victim’s parents and family the finger. Reminds me to much of the man’s family who murdered my niece. Her grandmother attended every court proceeding with a picture of my beautiful niece. On numerous occasions the accused family members would try to trip my auntie.Do these people really think their actions somehow are justified because the courts are trying their family member for something they did.

    • Sorry for you loss

    • Thank you…it was years ago and I thought I had moved from that place of disgust and anger yet once i saw the video of the woman giving the family the finger it came bubbling up to the surface. This poor child was treated so horribly and seeing the accused family behave this way cements my feeling there are some really ugly people in the world.

Bernadine Wapasuce, my deepest condolences for the loss of your niece! I’m so sorry to hear this! I hope she rests in peace.

    • That’s just horrific. The loss of your family member is too much to bear already, but then to have them treat her gramma that way, is just more salt in an already gaping wound. You’re right, there are some terrible people in the world, but most of us are good, and deeply care about people like you, who’ve gone through something so painful. May your niece rest in peace. ❤

    • Thank you for your thoughts regarding my niece however I just finished reading the mother’s actions and my heart just dropped to soles of my feet. What is she thinking? One hand its good that the courts are trying to prevent her from staying with the man who did this to this precious baby (she is supposed to be a witness in case)however the level of depravity and ugliness of her choosing to be with him and his family is a new one for me.

How absolutely horrific. I don’t know how anyone could harm another human being nevermind a precious and innocent baby. When I see things like this it makes me sick to my stomach and I lose faith in humanity. God rest her soul.

Absolutely! Poor sweet angel! He should serve life in prison at the very least! RIP Veronica you sweet angel! The mother should go to jail too! Disgusting!

  15. How could anyone looking at what he did to her let him out on bail? How could any mother stand by while a man did this to her baby? And then defend him in court? This is not defensible. You can see the layers and layers and layers of bruises on this beautiful little baby’s face. I’m heartbroken for her father and her family.

  18. Well obviously he was able to post bail and will probably walk out a free man because this was just a little baby and not a cute barky little dog.
*for those wondering YES that was laced in sarcasm, don’t go pissing up my chimney over that*
The justice system here is so backwards. Had he done this to a dog, he would have gotten no bail and a couple years in prison. The amount of child abusers that walk free is disgusting. Seems like no one wants to stand up for these little people (except a few I mean, thank you for posting this) but everyone will march and make signs and storm the courthouses to see justice brought to animals. This is not to say that animal abuse isn’t an issue because it is but when the consequences for abusing animals are that much more severe than child abusers what is happening? How is this ok? This makes me so angry.

    [0]
    • You pretty much don’t know what you’re talking about. Animal abusers get to more than a slap o the wrist for crimes that in my opinion are no less and often more horrific than this. Our justice system sucks all around but don’t make it sound like the penalties for animal abuse are severe because they’re not and need to be.

    • If he did that to a dog he would have only got a fine

I’m sure that some people would want to beat the living life out of this guy and I bet they wouldn’t get bail….never mind $5000 bail! A person growing weed would get a higher bail if any bail at all. What the hell is wrong with the justice system? There are some seroius cracks in it and it needs to be fixed. This guy should get beat upon just like he beat upon this little 16 month baby. He’ll get his is jail and perhaps he won’t even make it to court!
