You need to think about your dog and not yourself! Get the dog the help it needs even if it means surrendering it. Sorry if it sounds harsh but you could be charged if you don’t provide the animal with the medical help it needs. Plus, the dog could die and you would have that on your conscience to add to your depression.

I have a lot of vets do payment plans. I suggest getting on the phone and start making calls.

  4. Most vets will allow a payment plan. Just get her in to see someone.

  5. Reach out to a rescue. Your dog is suffering and needs medical help. Sorry but I’d hate to see this animal die because you can’t afford it.

  6. Apply for Pet Card at your Vet. Almost everyone gets approved. It pays for the treatment, and you make monthly payments back to it

  8. Get a loan to cover the costs or surrender her. The health and welfare of the dog is the utmost importance, don’t let her suffer.

Bring her to Parkwest pet clinic, i own the studio beside them. They’re amazing!!!! I was in a pinch more than once and payment wasn’t even a question, they helped and we worried about money and all that later. My friends dog was taken to emergency, they quoted her $7000 to help the dog i got her to bring him here, they only charged $1200 in comparison and let her pay it over a year! Walk in, say “Nicole next door told me to come, said you’d be able to help me” and go from there. Family owned and run, amazing people, very compassionate towards the animals.

Heather Zeiner I had the same experience with them last week. They said to pay $3000 or euthanize my cat. Thankfully we found a way around it but they acted like we didn’t love our cat because we didn’t have $3000 to give them that moment. When we left with our cats meds they didn’t explain what they were for and when to give them either.

    • Maybe you could talk to the vets there in advance to gauge their response – taking that route may make a difference when they see how concerned strangers are, and the trust you have put in them to help.

    • You need to approach the vet and talk ahead of time. Look up charities which help with major illness costs for dogs.

Heather zeiner the north emergency botched my dogs surgery took my 3k and then refused to look at him when I kept calling saying he was having complications afterwards. Didn’t give me my free follow up exam and removed his stitches in the waiting room when I had them taken out. He died a month afterward while running constant tests to see wtf they did, and I had a necropsy done when he died to prove that it was there error for his death. Would NEVER bring one of my animals there again. There awful.

Sounds like the purina symptoms. If she is eating Purina, stop and use anything else. It could be a ton of different things just by your description, BUT if you feed Beniful or any Purina product and she is puking blood. I would switch now.

And feed a mix of 50/50 rice and unseasoned ground beef. Until she is feeling better, and keep her hydrated.

If she doesn’t stop, or gets worse. There is still surrendering her to a vet, she will get the care she needs but then be adopted out to a family that can afford her care. Best wishes for you and your pup!

  13. Please take your pet to the vet asap throwing up blood is not a good thing. Take them right away, have vet fill out application for Tails of Help or fill out an application for PetCard, you really should not wait too long. The longer you waits the worse it can be.

  14. Edmonton West prices are very reasonable. It’s time to use whatever resources you have available to you to properly care for your dog if you’re unwilling to surrender him/her. Borrow money, take out a line of credit or credit card, sell your things, offer your services for shoveling, cleaning etc. move mountains and get your dog to the vet immediately.

You need to act fast………reach out to RESCUES, they might help and call around to vets. Stop solid food, just give water until you get help. The spay and neuter clinic charge less than vets and they offer full services, I go to the one on 137 ave and 66 street.

  19. Please do not take the home remedies posted here as advice. Your dog needs a vet first and foremost. They will determine what is best for your dog, not someone who thinks this is a common malady, and treats at home.

  21. Have you got a regular vet, or at least one who has seen your dog once a year? If so, appeal to them, there is at least one charity that helps people pay for treatment, cancer in particular – throwing up blood could mean that. I hope you can get help as soon as possible. Also, you could try setting up a GoFundMe page – a lot of people would help I think, as this dog is so precious to you. I know just how much more important they become when you have depression.

Just passing on my condolences. Sorry for the loss. You have already missed out on the opportunity to save your dog – internal bleeding requires medical treatment immediately. I am not even sure if there is a single living creature on the planet which could live longer than 48hrs with internal bleeding, even at a slower rate.

Alright. Lots of sugestions in this thread. Pick 1. Time for do is now. Big Push your depession out to the side for just a bit so you can do. ( dont worry your depession will be there when you finish doing). Simple plans are best.

  33. Where is parkwest pet clinic

    [0]
  34. I cannot help with the name at this time but most vet clinics have pamphlets for emergency pet credit cards if its needed. I am saying this because there are options and your dog sounds like it needs help and sometimes it calls for extraodinary measures
