Shoutout to the Driver of the White Ford Driving Down 153 Ave Around Noon Today for Scaring Off the Coyote

Shoutout to the white ford that was driving down 153 ave just before 97 street today around noon. You saw the coyote that was chasing my dogs and I and you drove up into the field and scared it off.

ANOTHER GREAT POST:  Shoutout!

THANK YOU!!!

I didn’t think i had to worry about them at this time of day, by such a busy road. You are a good man!

I’ll do my best to pay it forward as I have no way to actually thank you!

  2. Glad your safe not sure what kind of dogs you have but there is warnings all over that area. Coyotes are coming in to city for easy prey (cats/dogs/rabbits) careful out there people they are becoming less fearful of approaching humans

Some of them are losing their fear. We have one come into our Kingsway neighborhood sauntering up and down the sidewalk with no apparent fear. I am deeply concerned about what might happen if that one encounters a toddler without an adult immediately around. As it is, our Shih Tzu never goes outside without a human present.

  5. Something’s not right her coyotes are scared of humans

    • They were – they arent anymore. With the encroaching of humans onto the land north of the city they are coming in to look for food. They are less fearful now a days and just aggressive.

    • For the most part ones in the inner city still have fear until people start trying to walk quietly toward them for pics or what have you and they get used to people.
Wildlife officials say to make noice and make it obvious thats its your territory and scare them a bit so they are more likely to stay out of the city limits.

  6. Report the coyotes to 311. They are tracking incidents and will send someone to take a look (at least that is what the 311 person told me)

Saw one at Hawrelak Park just east of the pond and he looked so mangy and rough. And from what I understand they prominantly don’t come out during the noon heat. Glad you and your pooches are safe, I have a doggie as well. Kudos to the truck driver! What a MAN!
