Thanks Staff at Roger’s Place!

I just wanted to give a shout out to the staff at Rogers Place. I had tickets for me and my mom to go see Garth Brooks on Friday night. My mom loves Garth and doesn’t get out a lot, so I got the tickets for her birthday and she was really excited about it. Our seats were in the 5th row in the upper bowl section 218. When we arrived at our seats my mom seemed kind of anxious which got increasingly worse as people came and we had to get up so they could go by.

I knew my mom was really afraid of heights but I never even thought this would be an issue in the arena. I guess the steepness of the seats and the cramped space was too much for her. After a few minutes she was nearly in tears and I thought we were going to have to leave. I went up to the usher and explained the situation and he told me he would talk to the manager and see if anything could be done. I went back to my seat and after a couple minutes he came and brought us up to the concourse and asked to wait while they tried to work it out. The manager came and talked to us and after a few minutes they were able to move us to seats in the bar stools at the very top row.

Because you couldn’t see down the steep slope of the seats my mom was fine. I am so appreciative for the staff at Rogers Place for accommodating us in the face of these unexpected circumstances. It meant so much to my mom that she was able to enjoy the show. Thanks again for saving the day!

  2. They are amazing there. I had a similar issue with having a really tall couple of guys in front of me that were taller than I was even on a level below me. I decided to just stand on the concourse level and listen from there. The usher asked me why I was there and recommended I talk to guest services. They moved me and my aunt to the spot where the cameras usually are for hockey games. There was nobody in front of us and we had a much better view. They are so helpful and super nice.

The same thing happened to me when I took my kids to a concert there. I was so relieved when the ushers allowed me to sit at the bar, it made all the difference. I can sympathize with your mom’s anxiety. I was petrified and close to tears too! It’s way to steep! Glad the staff helped you out like they did for me 🙂

  4. Lots of issues with the upper concourse seats re steepness and spacing. I don’t understand how that was not thought about. It’s horrible for hockey as well

The exact reason why I won’t go. It is absolutely terrifying to and my body freezes and makes me extremely instantly sick. I do and have cried when we were at the other stadium. I can’t do concerts or event anymore because of the seating and can’t afford lower seats.

Yes they are very steep. As I walked down the stairs I was like I feel dizzy. I was fine once I was sitting though

  13. We went as well and I was shocked at how steep it was ! I’d heard it was, but never expected it to be quite that bad. I was glad we were only 4 rows from the top so I didn’t have to go all the way down the stairs. We found the staff we encountered amazing amidst the chaos!

  14. The seating there is worse then the movie theatres. So steep and cramped in there.

Fuck greasy jew Katz, his 6 point entertainment jew club, the jew mandal who aided by misappropriating public funds to a private jew enterprise (and even giving jews over 500k for the sliver jew balls on the side of the road!) – so naturally fuck Rogers place and the edmonton greasy sheemies (I mean oilers).

Our guest services guy was so busy doing nothing, a drunk guy actually fell from the top row and rolled five rows down. So it is that steep. I’m sure he would have rolled over the edge if it had not been for the people that were enjoying the show breaking his fall. Design flaw, over serving of alcohol and ushers not doing their job. I’m glad not everyone that works there is useless.
